Omer: sheaf of Barley.
The Jewish people count 50 days between Passover to the holiday of Shavuot—The Feast of Weeks. This is called the counting of the Omer which begins on the second day of Passover. During this 7 week period, with the exception of several festival days during this time, it is forbidden to get married, get a haircut, or attend concerts and celebrations.
